Ask a Dietitian 1. Overview
This section allows members of RDCentral to ask nutrition related questions to our Dietitian members. To ask a question, click the Ask Your Question button on the top left panel. You may ask a question to a member of our Expert's panel or you may post your question without selecting an expert from our panel and therefore send it out to all our dietitian members. Select an expert from our panel when you want to ask your question directly to one individual (one-to-one relationship). You'll know the expert's history and areas of expertise, and so you'll know whether he or she is the right person to ask. However, if none of the experts from our expert’s panel have the appropriate expertise, you may want to post your question to all our dietitian members. Do this by selecting "For all Members (Open)" from the drop-down list on our Ask Your Question page. Questions that have not received a response within 20 days may be removed at our discretion. 2. What's the Experts Panel?
Dietitian members can sign up to be part of our expert's panel. When they sign up, dietitian members provide a brief bio, areas of expertise, and a photo. This is a great benefit to members of the general public as these members can then ask questions directly to specific individuals, one-on-one. Please note, however, that this does not mean that members of our expert's panel are more qualified than other dietitian members who have not joined our expert's panel. All dietitian members, whether in our expert's panel or not, are accredited by the American Dietetics Association and are, therefore, experts in nutrition and the field of dietetics. Some just choose to be more visible on this site than others. 3. I'm a Dietitian. How do I join the Expert's Panel?
First, you have to be a member of our network. Please go to our site for dietitians at www.DietitianCentral.com, and join there. This makes you a member of our network. Then, come back to RDCentral.com and login. Your login will work on both sites. Go to our Expert's Dashboard where you'll be able to fill out a profile page with all your information including areas of expertise and background. 4. I'm in the Expert's Panel, and I have just received a question, how do I answer it?
An expert can comment on questions just as any other RD member. Thus, when an expert answers a question, the system sets the appropriate status. Tip: Experts can go to their own section to see all questions posed to them. Use the red submenu bar to go to an expert's exclusive section. 5. I'm a Dietitian who is not in the Expert's Panel. How do I respond to a question that is 'Open'?
On the question detail page, you’ll have the option of entering a ‘Comment.’ Use this Comment box to answer any question available. The system will know that the response you gave was provided by a dietitian member and will add ‘RD Has Responded’ to the question summary available on the main Ask a Dietitian page. Find a Dietitian (Dietitian Directory) 1. Overview
Dietitian members can opt to be a part of this directory listing. We verify all dietitian registration numbers with the American Dietetics Association to make sure that members are, indeed, registered dietitians. 2. I'm a Registered Dietitian, how do I join your Dietitian Directory?
You join our directory by going to the Join Directory page on our site for dietitians at www.DietitianCentral.com. When you join there, your profile will be available on this site, RDCentral.com. There is no charge to join our Dietitian Directory. 3. How do I edit my Dietitian Directory profile?
Go to www.DietitianCentral.com. You'll be able to edit your profile by going to the Dietitian Directory section. |
